ZUIDERDAM has nineteen categories of accommodation ranging from the opulent Penthouse Veranda Suites (PS) to standard insides (N). All cabins feature the following amenities: individual air-conditioning units for personalized climate control, dataports for e-mail and Internet access, sofa, minibar, double closet with full-length mirror, chest of drawers, safe, hairdryer, telephone with voicemail and computerized wake-up service, multichannel music system and color TV (with CNN Headline News, TNT programming, shore excursions, safety information, miscellaneous ship programming, and feature movies). Each stateroom contains artwork specially commissioned for the ZUIDERDAM and 24-hour room service, a bowl of fresh fruit, two daily ice replenishments, shoe shine service, a souvenir canvas tote bag, and evening turndown service with pillow chocolates are included in the price. Institute Swiss all-natural bath products, including chamomile shampoo, comfrey facial soap, ginseng bath soap, and ginseng hydrating lotion are provided and an eight page satellite edition of the New York Times is delivered by 8:00 AM every day.

Of the ZUIDERDAM's 924 staterooms, 67% feature verandahs. There is one Penthouse Verandah Suite located on either side of Rotterdam Deck a few cabins aft of the forward passenger stairtower. They total 1,318 square feet, 318 of which are dedicated to the verandahs (which feature a private dining area and hot tubs). A large living room (with sofa bed for two), separate bedroom (with king sized bed), dining room, kitchen (VCR, microwave, refrigerator), walk-in closet, large bathroom (with separate shower, twin sinks and whirlpool tub), and separate guest's toilet occupy the remaining 1,000 square feet. Those staying in Penthouse and Deluxe Verandah categories have exclusive access to the concierge lounge (Neptune Lounge) on Rotterdam Deck.

There are 60 Deluxe Verandah Suites (category S) comprising the next highest grade of accommodation. Measuring between 510 to 700 square feet, their verandahs are at least 130 square feet (in the midships Rotterdam and Upper Verandah Deck blocks) or much larger in the aft corners of Navigation, Rotterdam, Upper Verandah, Verandah, and Upper Promenade level.

The third highest accommodation category, Superior Verandah Suites (SS) total 100. They each contain 100 square foot balconies within their total measurement of 398 square feet. Category SS cabins are located on Navigation, Upper Verandah, and Verandah levels.

There are 461 Deluxe Verandah Outside cabins, comprising the greatest number of staterooms on ZUIDERDAM, including categories A, AA, B, and BB. These offer two lower beds convertible to one queen, bath and shower or bath tub with shower, sitting area, private verandah, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

There are 165 standard outside cabins on ZUIDERDAM measuring 185 square feet, ranging from Category C to Category H. Category G cabins have partially obstructed views and Category H cabins have fully obstructed views. All have two lower beds convertible to one queen, bathtub and shower.

There are 28 handicap-accessible staterooms in a full range of categories.

ZUIDERDAM also has 136 standard inside cabins measuring 170 -- 200 square feet, ranging from Category I (large) to Category N (standard). These offer two lower beds convertible to one queen, and a shower.
