Golden Deck begins out of the passengers' reach at the tip of the fo'c'sle, where the STELLA SOLARIS' lovely brass bell and well-proportioned superstructure can be seen to their best advantage.

Most of Golden Deck is devoted to passenger accommodation, but also includes the beauty parlor and the infirmary. A standard outside cabin with picture window, G2 (above), is located on the forward port side of the ship. In the midships section, there are sixteen deluxe cabins (see image of cabin R37 for identical unit on Ruby Deck, just below).

The newly renovated Spa is located in the aft portion of Golden Deck. Once the Children's Playroom, the starboard side is now the Gym, while the port side has massage and various therapeutic rooms.

The fantail on Golden Deck and the terrace on Solaris Deck, just above, offer sheltered outdoor recreational space.

Ruby Deck's accommodation is laid out similarly to Golden Deck, beginning with standard outside (but with portholes, not picture windows) and inside cabins. The midsection is given over to deluxe cabins, as shown in the image of R35, above. Similar, but slightly smaller than the suites, with separate bedroom and sitting area, the sixteen on Ruby Deck bring the total number in this category to thirty two.

Cabin E27, a standard outside with upper and lower berths, is shown facing starboard.
Emerald Deck is also devoted to accommodation as well as an entrance foyer.

In the Foyer, which is located just aft of midships, the recessed circular ceiling lighting is reminiscent of the famous Italian liners of the 1950's and 1960's.

Even the STELLA SOLARIS' inside cabins are comfortable and well appointed, as seen in the above image of E69, which is located on aft Emerald Deck.

Sapphire Deck contains accommodation as well as the 275 seat Cinema Theater. Facing aft toward the screen, the plush velour seats are gently terraced downward. Presentations and lectures are often held here in addition to the screening of recent films.

Our visit to the STELLA SOLARIS concludes with a look at her lowest public area, the 125 capacity Discotheque. Located far down on Main Deck, its decoration is inspired by that of an old sailing ship or galleon with wood paneling, barrel-shaped tables, and lanterns for light fixtures.

With her dedicated following and ROC's good care, Maritime Matters wishes the proud STELLA SOLARIS many more years of happy sailing. In 2002, she will be undertaking the popular Golden Fleece itinerary with seven night cruises between Piraeus and Istanbul. For more information, contact Royal Olympic Cruises.
