Return to the era of great ocean liners as we walk through the pages of a 1930's brochure dedicated to life aboard the four great Matson ships: LURLINE, MONTEREY, MARIPOSA, and MATSONIA

"As the rainbow spans the horizons", so Matson liners "cross the open seas between" to the wonderlands of Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia, weaving island pearls into a new pattern of existence."

From Coit Tower to Aloha Tower and on to the antipodes of the South Pacific, New Zealand, and Australia, the Matson Liners dominated the Pacific in prewar years. They captured the essence of the lands they served, combining a sophisticated glamor with a tropical spirit.
