This antique wooden yacht has been in the family for since the 1970s when it was given to my Father. It was said to have been built in 1909 by the Southampton basad Harland & Wolff yard at Woolston. The vessel sailed well on the lake on Southampton Common. The rigging is now in need of love and care, and the original bowsprit was always missing, there is a dowel rod pictured above as a stand-in, which is clearly too long. The boat is beautifully made, heavy, there is a lead keel and she needs detail work to bring her back to her prime.
