The first keel section for hull number 6167 is lowered into the graving dock.

On January 12, the keel of the 130,000 gt CARNIVAL MAGIC, second in the CARNIVAL DREAM platform of ships, was laid at the Monfalcone (near Trieste) shipyard of Fincantieri.  The ship is due for completion in June of 2011.  The event was attended by key shipyard personnel overseeing the building of the latest "Fun Ship".

Along with a priest, who will bless the keel, the building team is assembled as Fincantieri Monfalcone yard director, Mr. Paolo Capobianco, speaks.

Skilled naval architect and marine engineer, Roberto Fazi, project manager of Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding site office at the yard.

The attending priest invokes the keel.

The three main Fincantieri players behind the newbuilding CARNIVAL MAGIC toast with a glass of asti:  Mr. Paolo Capobianco, yard director (left), Mr. Roberto Fazi (center-- Carnival Fincantieri Monfalcone onsite manager) and Giorgio Gomiero, yard deputy director..
